About
I started with some hacked-together kid version of tennis and badminton. Didn’t try squash until much later, and adopted Pickleball only just recently, but what I grew to like about squash was its forgiving nature. Unlike tennis, you could hit a pretty wild shot when you were just learning and still stay in the rally – maybe even win it. Not only was squash forgiving, but at times also hilarious.
But what changes from playing the occasional game now and then, to developing a passion? You don’t even have to be good at it. Just good enough to want to get better, just good enough to have fun. Looking at the gym bros thinking, “They would love life so much more if they played squash,” (or maybe you’re thinking tennis, badminton, racquetball or pickleball or some other racquet sport that’s your thing…).
It’s more than a game for some of us (you know who you are, people!)
It’s the fine point of life; the rise and fall of emotions, the creative improvisations, the happy mistakes; strategies, tactics, and experiments; the exploration of who you are as a person that shapes your strengths and weaknesses as a player, the improvement over time. Doesn’t matter if you play doubles or singles, competitive or recreational – that magic keeps us coming back again and again. CourtBound.com was born out of that passion.
I want to share that magic with other people. I like it when my neighbours see me on my way to or from a match or a game and ask me if I’m winning. I love it when my friends ask if I’m still playing. It’s an excuse to talk squash, I want them to play. Hey, Pickleball is fun, you should try it, but have you tried hardball squash doubles yet? You should!
And so I started with this kernel of an idea, ideas for clothes I wanted to wear, a life I wanted to live, that communicated and celebrated who I was and my joy for the squash game and greater racquet sport community; stuff that might start a conversation.
With that same passion, we are into delivering on that concept for CourtBound.com: we want everyone to win and we want you to be happy with your CourtBound purchase.

Courtbound.com was originally Squash4Life.com. In 2021 when the courts opened up briefly after Covid I played against an insanely talented kid U13 kid that was ranked within the top 10 in Canada (pretty sure my only points were the errors they might have made). And so far I’ve played against people in their 70’s that I was damned proud to both win and lose against. Because squash is for life. Squash is life. And me, well I am court bound, of course.
It doesn’t matter what you’re playing; if you’re playing, you’re winning.
