Where to Play Squash

Squash is relatively easy to learn because the ball stays within the court. If you play with a similar skilled partner, even playing a cooperative game of hitting it back and forth to one another trying to keep the ball in play can be loads of fun for adults and children alike. Just make sure you are using one of the bouncier (faster) balls to begin with so you can get used to hitting it off the walls.

The advantage of learning an activity like squash over one like tennis or pickleball is that when you miss the ball, it usually stays within the confines of the court, limiting how often you have to chase down a ball! Another fun fact is that you can often get away with a mishit shot and even win a point from it.

Most squash clubs, whether they are private clubs, or clubs part of recreation and leisure centers often have coaches, teachers, or classes that can teach you or your child how to play squash or give you a tune-up on skills you already have. Classes are a great way to meet other people and many clubs have game structures like ladders and house leagues, too, so you don’t necessarily even need to have a partner in mind.
